“Three simple steps, and then you will see, how easy making an estate plan can be… Three simple steps” has been going through my head all day, as it’s a derivation from a theme song on a show my 4 year old son watches all the time.
The three steps to making an estate plan in our office are (1) Consultation; (2) Drafting; (3) Review and Execution.
The first step is consultation. You come in or have a phone call with a licensed NC estate planning attorney. It’s a low pressure environment. You’re just there to talk about your wishes, needs, etc. We’ll ask a few questions to get an idea of what you may need and explain it all to you.
Then, if you decide you want to work with our firm, we draft all the requested documents. There may be some back and forth as we work out way through the drafting of the documents.
Finally, you come in to review and sign. We can make changes, if needed, on the fly. We also provide the notary and any necessary witnesses. You just show up and sign. For those unable to travel or climb the mountain of stairs to our second floor suite, we can come to you to finish the execution of documents. We’ll leave you with helpful information regarding your documents. Filing/recording of documents is an optional service we provide, so if that’s part of what you want, we’ll do that and have the originals sent back to you.
If you have estate planning needs, like a Will, Trust, or other documents, feel free to contact our estate planning attorneys to schedule a consultation.
